Etienne Crovato grew up in Holdorf, a small village in the north-west of Germany. As the child of Italian parents, he was confronted with the question of belonging from an early age: growing up between two cultures without ever fully fitting into either. As a queer, creative and curious kid, he quickly sensed that his environment was too limiting for his imagination and ambition to push boundaries. So where is home? Being exposed to international media, especially film and television, opened up a wider world for him. It became a space in which he could identify with characters, explore different perspectives, and understand himself better. In search of freedom and self-definition, he moved to Berlin and studied Fashion Journalism & Communication. There, he began to define the idea of home, realizing that belonging is not a fixed place but a feeling - something shaped by people, moments, and emotions. For him, home can be food shared with friends, watching Sex and the City and the debrief after, dancing to girly-pop in his living room with morning coffee, or discovering new cities for the first time. That is where he belongs. These moments ground him, inspire him, and create a sense of safety. His deeply emotional and sensitive nature allows him to perceive his outer world with high awareness and find beauty in a lot of places - a quality that is the foundation of his creative work and journey as a visual storyteller.
